The efficiency of a modern construction materials enterprise is measured not only by the power of extruders, but also by the speed and reliability of internal logistics processes within the production hall. Proper concrete delivery at a precast concrete plant is a critically important artery that connects the concrete batching plant (CBP) with the casting area into a single, uninterrupted production organism. At this stage, many plants lose money due to downtime or deterioration of concrete quality during transportation. Therefore, implementing specialized delivery systems becomes a matter of strategic development and increased profitability.

Technological Heart of Automated Concrete distribution

The system is based on the principle of addressable concrete distribution, implemented by TDM Engineering. It is a comprehensive solution designed to transport ready-mix concrete along complex internal routes. The core element is a self-propelled concrete bucket or shuttle made of high-strength steel, resistant to aggressive exposure to moisture and cement. This “smart” carrier moves along rail tracks that may include straight sections, curves, inclines, and declines, allowing full adaptation to the geometry of a specific production hall.

A key feature of the technology is its flexibility and power. The shuttle may be equipped with two or four wear-resistant polyurethane wheels driven by an inverter-controlled electric system to ensure smooth motion. Installed power ranges from 6 kW for two-wheel models to 12 kW for four-wheel versions. Such concrete delivery systems for precast plants allow transportation of significant volumes: up to 2,000 liters of compacted concrete or up to 2,700 liters of water, ensuring uninterrupted feeding of production lines.

Flexibility for New and Existing Plants

TDM Engineering solutions enable automation both during the design of new plants and when upgrading operating facilities. The addressable delivery system can discharge concrete directly into the extruder or into an intermediate buffer hopper. This hopper acts as a buffer zone, accumulating up to 2 m³ of compacted concrete and eliminating downtime even if delays occur at the concrete batching plant. The hopper is equipped with its own drive for bottom gate operation and a vibration unit preventing premature setting of the mix.

Why Industry Leaders Choose Automation

Automation guarantees consistently high margins and eliminates human factor influence. Addressable concrete delivery transforms production into a synchronized workflow where every minute generates profit.

  • Reduced labor costs
  • Stable concrete quality and mix homogeneity
  • Increased production output per shift
  • Long service life and high investment reliability
